Welcome to Tonbridge Kyokushin Karate Club The aim of this club is simply to promote and teach good, traditional Kyokushin karate. This site and the club are beginning to grow since our opening in October 2006, thanks to the continued support of all of our new students, as well as that of our friends from other dojos. You will here find training times and venues, history, photographs, details of upcoming beginners courses, costs of training and equipment, and some multi-media clips, and much more, just follow the links in the menu bars at the top and bottom of this welcome page. Tonbridge has had strong links with this powerful form of Karate since the early 1980s. This is, however, a brand new Kyokushin Dojo. As a club we hope to put Tonbridge back onto the map in the world of Kyokushin Karate, not just through tournament success and photo opportunities, but through the consistent development of good and responsible martial artists. This club is definitely not about rushing people to black-belt status, nor is it about just teaching people how to fight, it is about producing quality and consistency and about perservering with training to constantly improve, for self-defence, health, fitness, self-respect & awareness, self-confidence and simple peace of mind. We run the club voluntarily and we are not here to make a profit. We are affiliated to the British Karate Kyokushinkai whose Chief Instructor is Hanshi Steve Arneil 9th Dan, we are fully insured and operate a comprehensive Child Protection Policy. All of our instructors are Enhanced Disclosure checked by the CRB. If you think this martial art may be the one for you or your child then please contact us, we will answer all of your questions and you will be under no obligation. This is no-nonsense, traditional Karate. The training is sometimes tough, but always rewarding. Please feel free to browse the site, and to sign our guestbook, and take part in our new forum.
